Jose Tamayo
Licences: USSF / USASA / USC (NSCAA) / FVF / AYSO
FUTSOC Executive Director and Technical Director, Jose Tamayo has been coaching for over 50 years at all levels of play – including Academy, youth, recreational, competitive and premier elite youth, Super - Y League, middle school, high school, and adult teams and leagues. During this span, he has served as advisor to many club boards, leagues and has helped establish and coordinate among the largest and most significant youth soccer programs for the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), the YMCA and other leagues in the South Florida area. Joint cooperation coaching stints of FUTSOC with Miami Strike Force, Sunrise FC, Weston Fury, Davie FC, Boca Juniors and Schultz Academy among others of the USYSA/FYSA and U.S. Club Soccer / USL, established our unique program permanently in South Florida. Similarly, he has served with great dedication and distinction, as USSF/USL ODP Club Staff, USL ODP State Staff, and USL ODP Regional Staff scout.
Having represented the United States in competition in Europe during the mid-70’s at the U17 and U18 youth level internationally, Coach Tamayo, a 3 time All-Conference, All-City, All-County, All-State and All-America selection as a center forward and graduate of powerhouses Miami Country Day School in Miami Shores, FL and Ransom School in Coconut Grove, FL, then continued on and played in college at Georgia Institute of Technology. Coach Tamayo concurrently trained and developed area youth programs and players, and was a regular guest training member with the world-renowned Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the original NASL.
Over the years, while working with numerous financial institutions in international banking, Coach Tamayo has established and managed countless outdoor and Futsal leagues, soccer organizations, served on many boards and committees devoted to the development of the game in the U.S. In fact, competitive travel soccer can trace some of its origins to the efforts of Coach Tamayo and his Ransom teammates, along with his mentor Coach James C. Beverly. In the early seventies, the Coconut Grove Soccer Club was formed along with other Miami area clubs in order to permit year-round play for youth players outside of the traditional high school season. He also started and has served as the Boys Varsity Soccer Head Coach at highly regarded Sagemont High School in Weston, Florida for over a decade, where he also established the equally successful Middle School and Girls Varsity Soccer programs. Similarly, Coach Tamayo founded and continues to direct and coach, with the support of his three son's, the nationally prominent FUTSOC youth soccer club and its teams, which have previously attained the highest national rankings (as high as 6th place nationally according to the prestigious National Soccer Rankings and USA Rank) ever attained by any Florida youth clubs (U16-U19) over the past decade. In 2014-15, FUTSOC ENIGMA once again climbed to the top - closing out its most successful season as the No.1 ranked team in the U.S. in the U18/19 category. The 2015-16 season ended with an 11th place national ranking, with numerous prestigious tournament championships and attendance at the most prestigious tournament in the world - Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup. That year, FUTSOC was paired against the English League Champions and UEFA Quarterfinalists Middlesbrough FC U19, playing to a minimal 0::1 loss...testament to the world class level of our proud squad. Once again in 2016-17, our boys finished in the top ten in the nation and attended the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup again, finishing with a 2W-0L-2T and playing against the world class Red Bull Brasil team to a 0::0 tie. Numerous players have forged great college and professional careers at his helm, including: 2 Florida State Players of the Year, 5 U.S. National Team and National Pool players for the U16, U17, U20 and U.S. and foreign MNT squads, 13 National ODP Select players, 21 Regional ODP Select players, 35 State ODP Select players, 43 All-County players, 5 Broward County Player of the Year, 3 ESP select players, and 9 professional players currently and/or previously playing in South America, the U.S. and Europe. Perhaps of greatest import to the club, 175 student athletes have successfully attained their high school graduation and furthermore, have obtained scholarships and graduated from colleges and universities all over the U.S.
FUTSOC teams under his direction, have played and won at the highest levels of youth soccer in the U.S., at the top level Premier Elite Tournaments, such as: world renowned Dallas Cup, U.S. Club Soccer Regional Cup and National Cup, Score at the Shore, Potomac Memorial Cup, Jefferson Cup, Surf Cup, C.A.S.L., C.A.S.A. International Cup, Baltimore College Showcase, Final Four Showcase, Metro United College Showcase, NSR Cup, Disney Youth Cup International Tournament and Disney Showcase...and many more!. The club has also represented the State of Florida impressively, attaining the highest level of success ever, as 2010 - U23 USSF/USASA State Champion, 2010 - U23 USSF/USASA Regional Champion and placing 4th at the 2010 - U23 USSF/USASA National Championships held in Overland Park, Kansas. Subsequently, in 2011, the team reached the USSF/USASA Region III finals, losing by the minimum score of 0::1 to the Carolina Railhawks (the University of North Carolina NCAA National Champions) in what was deemed by officials and scouts present, one of the finest matches played in decades at this level.
Coach Tamayo holds numerous high level certifications from the USSF/USASA/NSCAA/FVF/AYSO, as well as American Red Cross and NCSS Level 1 and SCF certifications. Coach Tamayo initiated his Undergraduate Studies at Georgia Institute of Technology, focusing on Industrial Management. Upon switching Majors, he transferred to and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, Majoring in International Finance and Marketing. Graduate studies were subsequently completed at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, - Warrington College of Business - Florida Banking School and at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, - International Banking School of the Southeast. His professional international banking career spanned nearly 30 years, at many global institutions - Sun Banks, NA, Banco Nacional S.A. of Brasil, VENEFIN, Citibank, N.A., Florida International Bank, Regions Bank, Intertrade Global, from which he retired in early 2000, in order to devote his focus to international trade and international portfolio management.

Cachito

Cachito has quickly gone from the “new pup on the block” to a core member of the FUTSOC family. With a decorated background at FC Barkelona where he racked up an incredible 85 goals in just 26 matches, he’s proven that his bite is every bit as sharp as his bark.
Since joining FUTSOC, Cachito has carved out his own role—not just as a trainer, but as the heart of our sideline spirit. His knack for engaging with players, parents, and even rival mascots makes him one of the most recognizable faces (and tails) of the club.
Always the social butterfly, Cachito thrives at practices, where he’s become famous for his “extra conditioning sessions” (also known as chasing toys). Word to the wise: if you bring a squeaky ball, expect him to make you his new best friend.
Cachito isn’t just part of FUTSOC anymore—he is FUTSOC.

Baci
Licences: FIFA K-9 Pup
Meet Baci, the newest (and fluffiest) addition to the FUTSOC family. Still a rookie, he’s learning the ropes day by day under the watchful eye of veteran K9 trainer, Cachito. While his résumé may not yet boast overseas stardom, what he lacks in experience he makes up for in boundless energy, curious paws, and an eagerness to be part of the team.
Baci’s specialties currently include: chasing after cones instead of guarding them, perfecting his sideline zoomies, and stealing hearts with every wag of his tail. He’s working hard to master the basics, but don’t be fooled—this little pup has big potential.
Fans should keep an eye out for him during training sessions—if you hear excited yips or see a ball being “mysteriously” carried off the field, odds are Baci is on the case.
Every great club needs fresh talent, and Baci is just getting started.
