June 5th, 2020 Update

The 2020-2021 soccer season is now upon us, as we await final dispositions / mandates from Broward County and the City of Weston to return to play and adjust to a state of relative normalcy once again. This has been the single most impacting situation to affect our nation in years and these are certainly extraordinary times for the continuity of not only the economy in general, but particularly with our youth sports. Your children have been severely affected and have been imposed a complex set of conditions, which have reshaped their school and extracurricular activities. In turn, these have brought upon them, unusual stresses and serious effects upon their mental stability and psychological balance.

Our Florida Governor, Ron De Santis, already has lifted all restrictions on youth activities – a crucial important initial step in the reopening of our economy and the renewal of sports activities for our youths. It is only a matter of time before we receive the positive news about the lifting of restrictions of sport activities in our city.  Soccer training must resume, as we prepare for the start of the upcoming season. Concurrently, we continue to receive great interest nationally, about our ENIGMA Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament, and the possibility to hold it at the newly approved date of July 10-12.

New protocols and recommendations by our sports organizations will be implemented, so that we provide the safest environment possible for our youths. However, soccer is a full contact sport, which will expose all to each other and the possibility of disease spread. Mitigation will be at the forefront of our concerns, and hopefully we will attain a level of control to allow all activities to resume as safely as possible. We are on stand-by and hopeful of full re-initiation, effective as soon as possible.
