Today, we had the great privilege of receiving one of our finest and most celebrated FUTSOC ENIGMA players – Rio Ramirez, as his North Texas SC squad from USL1 played at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale against local power Fort Lauderdale CF. The exciting match, which played in front of hundreds of spectators on a beautiful South Florida night, resulted in a victory by his powerful Texas squad by a score of 1::0.

Born and raised in Arlington, Texas, Rio Ramirez played for the Fort Worth Vaqueros for three years as well as for the Mesquite Outlaws in the Major Arena Soccer (MASL) club.

A storied career with FUTSOC ENIGMA, particularly with his outstanding play at our multiple Dallas Cup appearances, Rio’s performances were most significant from his left back position. His extraordinary ability to control the left flank on the field and to rapidly close spaces, his uncanny talent to man mark to the point of nullifying top opposing strikers and wingers, combined with his rapid counterattacking strikes and distribution, gave our powerful squad, optimal opportunities to dominate in top-flight matches against world class opponents at the U-19 level (Red Bull Brasil, Botafogo, Middlesbrough FC, Pumas, Everton FC, Liverpool FC, Portsmouth FC, Solar FC, Dallas Texans and many more).

Notwithstanding, Rio always performed at only the highest levels, possessed outstanding leadership abilities, displayed the utmost sportsmanship, and commanded the profound respect and admiration from his teammates, as well as his opponents.

One of the finest players to ever wear the vaunted ENIGMA uniform, we are incredibly grateful, for his endless contributions to our storied club and are immensely proud to have had the opportunity to have him and his highly ranked professional squad visit our corner of the country!
